Samsung representatives explained that by removing the headphone jack, it was possible to increase the battery capacity of the smartphone.
On August 7, Samsung held a presentation of the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ smartphones. In the new versions of the Galaxy Note, the company abandoned the 3.5 mm headphone jack. After that, Business Insider reporters drew attention to the fact that advertising which was making fun of the lack of such a connector on the iPhone disappeared from the official Samsung channels.
Samsung launched an ad called ‘Growing Up’ in November 2017. It tells the story of a man who, year after year, faces the limitations of new Apple smartphones and ultimately buys the Samsung Galaxy. Among the shortcomings of the iPhone was the lack of protection against water and a headphone jack.
Business Insider found that the ad was removed from the Samsung Mobile USA page with 1.8 million subscribers, as well as from the main Samsung channel with 3.8 million subscribers. However, the video is still available on some regional channels of the company.
