Wanda Dench invites a new “grandson” to her home for all Thanksgiving Days.

In 2016, Jamal Hinton, who was then 17 years old, received a message from an unknown number with an invitation to a family dinner in honor of Thanksgiving Day.

The sender called herself a grandmother, but when Hinton asked her to send her photo, it turned out that this was not his relative. The teenager responded by sending his photo and saying that he was not her grandson, but he wondered if he could come to dinner anyway.

“Of course you can! For this, grandmothers are needed–to feed everyone,” the woman replied.

Hinton really came to the feast to the 61-year-old Wanda Dench and her husband. They had a good time, and since then Jamal has celebrated Thanksgiving Day at the new “grandmother” every year. After he shared this story on the Internet, Dench’s phone was overwhelmed, and she even had to change the number.

“The world is getting better than before,” says Hinton. “It’s nice to see that good people still exist.”
