Kipchoge is the Olympic champion of Rio 2016 and the holder of the current world record in the marathon.

Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge in Vienna ran a marathon in less than two hours, his control time was 1 hour 59 minutes and 40 seconds. However, his achievement cannot be considered a world record, as the tournament is closed.

The 34-year-old athlete also holds the current world record — it was set at around 2:01:39 in 2018 at the Berlin Marathon.
