The script for the film Edge of Tomorrow 2 is completed, according to director Doug Liman.
A sci-fi action movie starring Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt was an unexpected hit in 2014. It received very positive reviews and earned over $370 million in movie theaters around the world. While the story seemed to be over, such a warm reception of the film fueled discussions on its continuation.
Five years have passed since The Edge of the Future was first released, and the prospects for a potential new film remain unclear. Even taking into account the box office of the first part, a high budget of $178 million reduced the profitability of the film for Warner Bros. However, the filmmakers continued to move forward so that we could see “Edge of Tomorrow 2” — or “Live, Die & Repeat”, as Liman wants. After hiring a new screenwriter earlier this year, Liman now says the sequel script is completed.
